FIVE-HEARTS OPEN

Background Image
FIVE-HEARTS OPEN

This meditation enhances awareness of the subtle energy within matter. The five “hearts” of  Chinese medicine consist of four small chakras, one in each palm of the hands and in the soles of the feet, plus the large heart chakra in the middle of
the chest.  Five-Hearts Open is a moving meditation that opens awareness to the energy within physical form, increasing your energy sensitivity. It plugs you into the Earth’s energy circuit and enhances the direct experience of how interconnected all life is.

This meditation helps increase energy sensitivity and connection to the world. The five hearts are your Heart Chakra and the chakras in the palms of your hands and the soles of your feet.

To start, sit or stand with arms opened along your side, palms facing outward.

Ground, center and establish boundaries.

Step 1. Fig 1. Focus on your Crown and Heart chakras. With every inhalation, invite energy into your Crown chakra and, with your breath, imagine the energy from your Crown flowing into your heart, expanding, and sending light from your heart into the space around you. Explore your heart connection to all that is present.

Step 2. Fig 1. Visualize energy in your heart streaming into your hands. Explore the space, plants, animals and objects around you with your energized hands.

Step 3. Fig 2. Imagine light from your heart streaming into the soles of your feet, awakening them. Walk with an awareness of the connection between the energy in your feet and the energy in the Earth. How far into the Earth can you feel?

Step 4. Fig 3. Engage the world with all five hearts open: your Heart Chakra and the chakras in your hands and feet.
